Boundary Statement
Confidentiality:
The information shared within this counselling relationship is confidential between the client, counsellor, and the counsellor’s supervisor (where the client’s identity will be anonymous). However, there are certain circumstances where confidentiality may need to be breached. As the counsellor I would discuss these situations with you first where it is safe to do so.
These are the exemptions to confidentiality:
If I consider that you pose a serious risk of harm to yourself, another individual (adult or child), or an animal.
Disclosure of an activity which is illegal, for example, money laundering.
Disclosure which leads me to believe that you are a threat to national security.
Any legal process where a court requests information that overrides the confidentiality agreement.
If you give me written permission to discuss the session with any other adult as the client. I will only provide the start and any end dates of your therapy.
I understand and accept the terms of the confidentiality agreement.
Data Protection:
In line with the General Data Protection Regulations of May 2018 sensitive and personal will be kept for the purpose of delivering a counselling service to you which is effective and focused.
Written records are kept either in a locked cabinet at the WLGBT+ business address or online on a secure and locked device. All records are kept for six years after the counselling has ended.
I give permission for Raymond Banks to keep records as applicable, throughout our time working together, and understand that these will be held in a secure place and destroyed correctly:
